Our Story

Where it all began...
On July 5,  2004 our daughter, our miracle, was born 8 weeks too soon. Abygail Grace came in at a whopping 4lbs and 15inches long. Immediately after Abygail was born; she stopped breathing. After I heard what sounded like a kitten (her cry); she was whisked away to the NICU. She remained in the NICU for 30 days. We met a lot of people in 30 days. Each one had amazing stories. Some were wonderful; and some were sad. We all were all connected by one word "PREEMIE".
Abygail sustained scattered brain damage; due to lack of oxygen at birth. She came home and remained on a heart monitor for 5 months. At 6 months, she was still unable to roll over or hold her head up. We had her assessed by Early Intervention; and started seeing her first Neurologist. At this point she was diagnosed with Mild Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Delayed.
Abygail always struggled with all of her milestones; but with Early Intervention and the help of Children's Specialized Hospital, we started to have hope for a bright future.
On January 21, 20007 our son Steven was born 3 weeks too soon. Thank God, he was only in the NICU for 3 days. He was a great addition; and our family was complete. Things were really looking up for us.
In March of 2007, Abygail suffered her first seizure. It was the first of many more hospital visits for us. One night while I watched my 3 year old daughter sleep in her hospital bed; it made me start to think. I always enjoyed crocheting for our family; why not be a blessing to others? I remembered receiving an outfit while Abygail was in the NICU. It really touched us that there were people outside our new world who just wanted to use their talents to bless others. I began making preemie hats. Then I got brave and moved on to blankets. Before I knew it...I had a box full. I donated as much as I could; but after awhile, our lives at home just became too hectic to keep up.

Where We Are Today
Both of my children have special needs. However, Abygail is more severe. We were told at one time that Abygail was failure to thrive. There were doctors who not only said she wouldn't live; they said she would never walk, talk....Blah Blah Blah. I am pleased to say that Abygail proved everyone wrong. She is now 12 years old! She runs and jumps; and we are working on her speech. Her official diagnosis is Autism, Apraxia, Mild Cerebral Palsy, and Focal Epilepsy. We've had many other visits to various hospitals; where we have found many people who bless us.

I wanted to create a blog to show and sell products that I make. Every product I sell gives $1.00 or more to an organization that we are either personally a part of; or new organizations that my clients make us aware of. I also wanted to create a place for people who want to use their talents to bless others. Please share your story and or talent to help create special things for some very amazing little people!
